Dannebrog (pronounced ’Dan-eh-broh’) is our beautiful red upright bike for ladies that reflects the history and heritage of Denmark and its world renowned chic and relaxed cycling culture.
The Dannebrog classic ladies bicycle pays homage to its namesake; the legendary national flag of Denmark and its monarchy. It is the oldest state flag in the world still in use, dating back to the 13th century. Velorbis has taken inspiration from this royal Danish icon and created a fitting tribute in a bicycle that has true prestige. The Dannebrog flag is red with a white Scandinavian cross that extends to the edges of the flag. This is reflected in the colour scheme of the bicycle, from the stunning, fire-engine red of the frame through to the light blonde tyres.
This is a traffic-stopping bicycle. The elegant, feminine shape of the light-weight steel lugged frame has been taken from the timeless and popular Victoria Classic ladies model and features all the best-in-class components and accessories synonymous with Velorbis.
The Dannobrog cycle has stainless steel rims and stainless steel spokes and is fully equipped with luxurious Brooks brown leather saddle (B67s), Brooks leather handle grips and a Brooks leather mud flap.
This traditional vintage cycle can typically be used as part of your everyday life - convenience, durability and reliability are emphasised throughout all elements of the design.
Additional standard features include a fully enclosed 3W Sturmey Archer hub with dynamo driven light system (front and rear) including parking light, sensor and built-in reflector from well-known German brand Bush & Müller. This classic, retro, vintage Dutch style gents bicycle also comes with an integrated frame lock, double kick stand, leather skirt guard, puncture protected Schwalbe Marathon tyres with build-in side reflectors and a traditional style 80 mm ‘ding dong’ bell.
Our rust protected steel rear carrier has an innovative hook on the side so that you can carry the trendy 'old school' Velorbis leather satchel, the gym bag or grocery bags on the side of your bicycle. When you place your bag handles over the hook and bring down the spring loaded top flap, a special locking mechanism ensures that your items are securely held in place when cycling.
